Why did the client contact us?

This business owner had a growing concern about security and efficiency at their office. The rear door was frequently used by employees and delivery drivers, but there was no controlled access in place. They didn’t want customers or unauthorized visitors slipping in unnoticed—and they didn’t want employees constantly interrupted to unlock the door.

On top of that, distributing physical keys to each team member was inconvenient and risky, especially with changing staff. They needed a modern, flexible solution that improved security while keeping operations smooth.

The work provided:

We designed a secure, remote-access entry system using UniFi smart door hardware fully integrated into their existing UniFi Talk phone setup. Here's how we made it work:

  • UniFi Doorbell Camera + Badge Reader: Installed at the rear entrance, allowing staff to visually verify and grant access with the push of a button—right from their desk phone or mobile app.

  • Magnetic Lock Installation: A discreet mag lock ensures the rear door stays securely locked unless explicitly opened via the system. Employees can lock the front, exit through the rear, and ensure full perimeter security.

  • Badge-Based Access for Staff: Instead of physical keys, employees use personalized badges to unlock the door. This makes access easy to manage and quick to revoke if needed.

  • After-Hours Lockdown Capability: We configured the system to disable all badge access after hours. Once the last person leaves, no one can re-enter until office hours resume—boosting overnight security.

  • No More Desk Interruptions: If someone rings the doorbell, staff can simply answer from their UniFi Talk phone, verify the person, and unlock the door remotely—no more walking back and forth.

The Result:
